ATLANTIC CO.-- Crews are hard at work making sure roads are clear and residents are safe.
Officials say the Atlantic County Emergency Operations Center opened around 9:30am Saturday. County Public Works crews continue to treat and plow primary and secondary roadways. No problems have been reported at this time.
The state Department of Transportation has requested the removal of all abandoned or disabled vehicles from roadways to accommodate snow plow trucks.
Officials say as of 11:15 am on Saturday, a damaged pole is blocking the U-turn lane on Route 30 in Atlantic City. The U-turn lane is currently closed to all traffic. Traffic control lights on both eastbound and westbound lanes of Rt. 30, between Atlantic City and Absecon, are currently without power.
Wind conditions are causing downed tree limbs and wires, resulting in widespread power outages on the barrier islands and increasing outages throughout the county.
