NORTHFIELD - An Atlantic County freeholder received a special award from the local veteran community.
Frank Formica, local businessman and chairman of the Atlantic County Board of Freeholders, was presented with a plaque from the Disabled Veteran's Chapter 70 Wednesday night in Northfield.
The honor recognizes Formica for his appreciation and continued support and involvement in various veteran issues throughout the county.
Formica, who served actively in the Vietnam era, never faced combat, but says he continues to have a passion to help make a difference in the lives of those who have served.
"I think Atlantic County is fortunate to have such an active veteran community. They're an important part of our community and certainly are important to America and what they have done," said Formica
Formica adds that he will continue to work as a freeholder as well as actively contribute as a citizen of Atlantic County to advocate our local veteran's rights.
