ATLANTIC CITY - Two Atlantic County residents received special awards today at the 25th annual Doctor Martin Luther King Junior birthday celebration.
County Executive Dennis Levinson and other government officials presented awards in King's honor to two recipients who continue to uphold his principles through their involvement in the community.
This year's recipients were Kaleem Shabazz, a community leader and former director of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and John Mclernon, Atlantic County Director of Community Relations and Social Services.
