HAMILTON TWP. - The New Jersey Department of Transportation is reconstructing the Route 322 bridge over the Big Ditch Creek in Hamilton Township.
The $3.6 million federally-funded project will fully replace the existing bridge, which was built back in 1930. During the construction periof, the eastbound side of the bridge will close and two-way traffic will shift to the westbound travel lanes.
Approximately 18,000 vehicles use the bridge to cross the creek in Lake Lenape Park.
Construction is scheduled in stages and the project is expected to be completed by Spring 2013.
