Atlantic County 4-H

One of the most exciting 4-H events, which takes place each summer, is the annual county fair. The Fair is the culmination of the year for both 4-H members and volunteers; it is a showcase of all that is accomplished during the 4-H program year.

The Atlantic County 4-H Fair is an event designed primarily to evaluate and display the work of youth participating in 4-H programs. It can be considered the “graduation” of the project year. But, it also provides a unique three-day event at the Jersey Shore—countless hours of affordable family fun that combines an old fashioned farm fair with the modern aspects of an amusement park.

The focus is family-oriented fun at little cost—no admission fee and a nominal parking fee. A variety of activities are going on at the same time to attract the diverse range of interests. Some come to see the horses, livestock, and other animals on exhibit, others to watch the entertainment, and still others who like to look at the wonderful 4-H projects. Other features include karate demonstrations, baton twirling acts, and commercial attractions. The young at heart enjoy the rides, games, and good times with their friends—there is something for everyone!
