Highway crashes claim the lives of nearly 34,000 people in the United States each year.  Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day aims to keep roadways fatality-free for one day.  Motorists will be encouraged to obey all traffic laws through education and enforcement,  including buckling up, driving the posted speed limit, avoiding distractions while driving, and remaining safe and sober behind the wheel.
