Public Health Nuisance Investigation Program

The Environmental Health Unit responds to reports from the public regarding public health nuisances. These include the following issues:

· Heating (Rental Units)
· Water Supply (Rental Units)
· Sewage Disposal (septic system malfunction, sewer overflows)
· Vermin Control (rodents, insects)
· Mold (Rental Units)

The Environmental Health Unit does not enforce local housing codes. Please contact your local municipality for housing code issues. The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs also inspects rental properties that contain 3 or more units.
