Using ArcExplorer with Arc IMS

You can use the free downloadable Arc Explorer software to create maps and print maps. You can also use Arc Explorer to explore the data found on the Atlantic County IMS Site as well as other IMS sites found on the geography network.

You can download ArcExplorer from ESRI’s web site http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer/

When you finish downloading the program you can open ArcExplorer and you will see the following screen. You will notice that you have many of the same tools as in the IMS viewer, but many of them are grayed out.
The major difference between ArcIMS and Arc Explorer is that you can save your static maps and work with the data that you have down loaded from the IMS site. Obviously some of the tools are different for this reason as well.
You will notice that there is a menu bar above the toolbar. This menu bar has a variety of options for you to use in your endeavors.
The menu bar gives you many options for working with and exploring the data you have downloaded from the ArcIMS site.
