Levinson Nominates Helen Walsh to ACCC Board of Trustees
|
County Executive Dennis Levinson has announced his nomination of former County Administrator Helen W. Walsh of Margate to the Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees for a four year term.
Walsh retired from county government last year. She made history by becoming the first female in the state to hold the position of county administrator.
"Many people may not realize that prior to Helen's tenure with county government, she was an educator, first as a high school social studies teacher and later as a curriculum director for Boston area schools," said Levinson. "Her knowledge and experience are unequaled. She is extremely dedicated and committed to improving the lives of others. She will be a valuable asset to this board."
Walsh has also been actively involved in numerous professional and civic organizations throughout her career, particularly those related to family and child well-being. She has received many honors and is widely recognized for her effectiveness and proficiency in all endeavors.
Walsh has been nominated to fill the vacancy of Jeffree M. Fauntleroy. Her appointment will require the advice and consent of the Atlantic County Board of Freeholders.
