Improvements Planned for Bears Head Road

Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson has announced plans for improvements to a 1.6 mile section of Bears Head Road in Hamilton and Buena Vista Townships following the approval of a $693,531 contract award by the Board of Freeholders on April 6, 2004.
The contract was awarded to A.E. Stone, Inc. of Egg Harbor Township as the low bid. It includes reconstruction of the roadway base and application of a new surface course from Estelle Avenue in Hamilton Township through Buena Vista Township to the Cumberland County border.
"This roadway serves as a main artery between Cumberland and Atlantic counties and was sorely in need of repair," said Levinson. "These improvements will help ensure the safety of our motorists which remains a top priority."
