County Now Accepts Credit Card Payments for Many Services
|
Atlantic County residents may now enjoy the added convenience of paying for a number of county services with a credit card.
According to County Executive Dennis Levinson, the county began accepting Master Card and Visa credit card payments in mid-November for services at the Green Tree Golf Course in Mays Landing, the Animal Shelter in Pleasantville and the County Clerk's offices in Mays Landing and Atlantic City.
"I am pleased to make doing business with Atlantic County even easier," said Levinson. "Our goal is to provide our residents with effective and efficient services and that includes making them as accessible and convenient as possible."
Among the county services for which credit card payments are now being accepted are passport applications, animal adoptions and rounds of golf.
The Board of Freeholders passed a resolution on September 23, 2003 to initiate the acceptance of credit card payments. A policy was then issued and affected employees were trained to make transactions.
"So far, so good," remarked Levinson. "Everything appears to be running smoothly."
