Women's Commission Holds Meeting to Help Get Out the Vote
|
The importance of voting will be the topic of discussion of the October 1 meeting of the Atlantic County Advisory Commission on Women to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Borders Book Store in Mays Landing.
A representative from the Superintendent of Elections Office will be in attendance to discuss voting rights and to assist residents with voter registration.
"Regardless of your political affiliation, we encourage the public, and women in particular, to attend this public meeting," stated Gay Laubert, Chairwoman of the Women's Commission.
According to Laubert, statistics indicate that women are worried and anxious about the well-being of their families and what the future holds for the next generation.
"Women need to be heard. And voting is one of the best methods to voice your opinion," she added. "This meeting also provides an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about our Women's Commission, meet our members and discuss issues of local and national importance to women."
The Atlantic County Advisory Commission on Women is a non-partisan organization whose members include: Robyn Boniewicz, Sonia M. Cruz, Debra L. Dickerson, Clare A. Henchy, Ellen M. Hohmann, Elizabeth "Betty" Kennedy, Beth A. Levy, Dr. Phyllis M. Perkins, Leslie C. Pinero, Dawn Stollenwerk, Erica E. Thomas, Stefanie Watts and Freeholder Liaison Alisa Cooper.
