The program promotes healthy life choices by exposing girls to discussions on self-esteem; career choices; goal setting; boundary setting; self defense; and adolescent health. Members of the program also enjoy enrichment activities such as arts and crafts and field trips. YOU CAN HELP - Become a Guest Speaker! If you have benefited from having a role model, experienced a life circumstance that may have been avoided if you had listened to a role model, or are knowledgeable about problem solving and self-esteem, volunteer to be a guset speaker. |
The
Atlantic County Healthy Youth Development Program is a mentoring program
for 11 - 16 year old girls. The goal of the program is to prevent teen
pregnancy through a relationship with an adult mentor and through education
on teen sexuality and health issues.
