County's Satellite Building Improvements Support MainStreet Hammonton's Revitalization

The county's Hammonton satellite building is getting a face lift. Visitors to the facility, located at 310 Bellevue Avenue, will immediately notice the building's exterior trim has been painted to coincide with other buildings in the downtown district as part of a revitalization program sponsored by MainStreet Hammonton, a network of community volunteers.

"We support MainStreet Hammonton's revitalization efforts and want to contribute to the area's appearance and encourage economic development," said County Executive Dennis Levinson. "Atlantic County is happy to do its part."

In addition to painting the building's exterior trim, the county is adding a fresh coat of paint to the interior and making minor repairs. The facility houses a county senior center, family center and social services office, in addition to an independent dental clinic and mental health office.

"Those of us involved in the revitalization of Downtown Hammonton appreciate every effort to improve our community," remarked Dr. John Woods, MainStreet Hammonton's Executive Director. "Every building that is improved downtown makes our community a better place to live. It is gratifying to see our county government make this investment in the revitalization of Downtown Hammonton."

Hammonton was designated as a New Jersey Main Street community in 1993. The program is funded by a partnership between the Town of Hammonton and private contributions with support through state and federal grants. MainStreet Hammonton has helped to stimulate improvements to the downtown district's public and private properties and increase the number of local businesses and employment opportunities.
