Oral History Workshop - May 24

The public is invited to attend a free workshop on the importance of oral history in recording the story of a community and of a time and place. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Carnegie Library Center at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Pacific Avenue in Atlantic City.

The workshop will feature discussions of how to conduct an oral history interview. Speakers will include Lisa Rosner, Professor of History at the Richard Stockton College and Richlyn Goddard, Professor of History at Howard University and adjunct at Stockton College.

Those interested in attending must pre-register by May 21 by contacting the Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs at (609) 646-8699, ext. 6314 or by email to: cmasonpurdie@acmail.aclink.org. Registrants will receive a parking permit and a light lunch will be provided.

The workshop is presented by the Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs in partnership with the Richard Stockton College, Public History program, and funded in part by the NJ Historic Commission/Department of State.
