Atlantic County Recognized for its Kindness Awareness

Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson is pleased to extend his congratulations to Brigantine Elementary and Folsom Elementary schools for their selection as two of the top three kindness awareness schools in New Jersey as recognized by Mission: Kindness International, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Trenton. Each school will receive a Heart of Gold Award during a Kindness Awareness Month celebration on May 11 at 11:30 AM at the State House in Trenton.

The City of Brigantine will also receive a Heart of Gold Award as one of the top three kindness municipalities in the state. And Atlantic, Bergen and Hudson counties will be honored as the kindness awareness counties of 2005.

"Atlantic County is grateful to be recognized for its efforts to promote kindness, character and responsibility through our education systems and local governments," stated Levinson. "I applaud the Brigantine and Folsom school systems and the City of Brigantine as recipients of this unique honor."

May is designated as Kindness Awareness Month in New Jersey to recognize the importance that kindness plays in encouraging individual and social responsibility and to encourage citizens to foster kindness by participating in appropriate educational programs and activities.
