The new Pleasantville branch of the Atlantic County Library System will be dedicated on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at 11 AM. The library was recently relocated to a new, two-story, 13,000 square foot facility at 33 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue in Pleasantville. The ceremony will include remarks from County Executive Dennis Levinson, Pleasantville Mayor Ralph Peterson, Sr. and State Librarian Norma Blake.
The library contains shelving for over 40,000 books and features separate areas for reference, adult and children’s services. The first floor includes a children’s area, youth activity room and children’s craft area. The second floor houses the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation computer lab with 10 computers for public use, a printer and other related equipment. Spanish language keyboards are also available. Additional computers are available for public use throughout the library.
The Pleasantville municipal library, originally located on Washington Avenue, became a branch of the Atlantic County Library System in 1984. It was moved to South Main Street in 2000.
The library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 8 PM and Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
