Nine Atlantic County corrections officers will be promoted at a ceremony on Friday, February 25 at 3 PM at the Atlantic County Criminal Court Complex, 4997 Unami Boulevard, Mays Landing. Two of the officers are being promoted from sergeants to lieutenants while seven will now attain the rank of sergeant. They include: Sergeant Joseph Bondiskey of Egg Harbor and Sergeant Myron Hendrick of Galloway, Officer James Allen of Egg Harbor City, Officer David Cohen of Dorothy, Officer Charles DiGerolamo of Waterford, Officer Kirkland Marks of Northfield, Officer Richard Trout of Belleplain, Officer Arthur Wilt of Mays Landing, and Officer Charles Zimmerman of Egg Harbor Township.
"We are fortunate to have such dedicated members of the law enforcement community at our service," remarked County Executive Dennis Levinson. "I commend them for their commitment to preserving public safety. They have our respect and gratitude."
Sergeants Bondiskey and Hendrick are 15-year veterans of the Atlantic County Department of Public Safety and have worked throughout the facility during their tenure. Hendricks was promoted to the position of sergeant in April 1996 and Bondiskey was promoted to the position in May 1997.
Officer Allen joined the department in October 1995 and has served in various areas of the county justice facility, including the Home Detention Unit and the Day Reporting Unit.
Officer Cohen is an eight-year veteran of the department who serves as a certified police instructor and Range master for the justice facility. In addition, Cohen is a member of the facility's Emergency Response Team.
Officer DiGerolamo was hired by the department in December 1988. His tenure has included working in Admissions as well as several other areas of the facility.
Officer Marks has 13 years of service with the department including Investigations and Operations. He is also a certified police instructor.
Officer Trout joined the department in January 1994. He is a member of the department's Emergency Response Team and represents the department on the Police Unity Tour.
Officer Wilt is a nine-year veteran of the department and has worked in the Boot Camp and Video Court.
Officer Zimmerman joined the department in January 1994. He has also served in the Boot Camp and is the department's instructor in Direct Supervision Housing.
