Dorset Avenue Bridge Reopens
Work on the first stage of structural repairs for the Dorset Avenue Bridge in Ventnor has been completed. The bridge reopened as of 5 PM February 16, subject to pre-construction weight limits.
The first stage of repairs involved the installation of a new steel beam under the bridge deck to replace a deteriorated beam that was discovered during the state's bi-annual inspection.
Designs are progressing for a full deck and deck beam replacement project. That work is expected to begin in late April and be completed prior to Memorial Day.
