Annual Donald J. Sykes Awards Ceremony

The Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services and the Atlantic County Disabled Citizens Advisory Board will host the 16th annual Donald J. Sykes Awards Ceremony on Thursday, October 21 at 11:30 AM at the Mays Landing Country Club, 1855 Cates Road, Hamilton Township.
The ceremony was established by the county in 1989 to recognize outstanding residents who have improved our quality of life by overcoming barriers related to their personal disabilities and dispelling the myths that typically surround individuals with disabilities. It was later named in memory of Sykes, a longtime community leader and former chairman of the county's Disabled Citizens Advisory Board, who died at age 35 as a result of a rare auto-immune disease. It is held each October during disABILITY Awareness Month.
