Atlantic/Cape May WIB Earns Incentive Funds

The Atlantic/Cape May Workforce Investment Board (WIB) has been awarded $52,082 in incentive funds for having met or exceeded all of its 17 performance standards for program year 2002 as set forth by the Workforce Investment Act. The WIB partners with local businesses, community organizations, educational institutions and government agencies to provide employment, training and social services to area residents and employers.

The Atlantic County Board of Freeholders passed a resolution to accept the funds at its June 29 meeting following a letter of notice to County Executive Dennis Levinson from Albert Kroll, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor.

"This award acknowledges the ability to provide services that result in positive outcomes regarding employment, accomplishments and earnings," noted Kroll.

Each local area WIB is eligible to receive incentive funds if it meets or exceeds at least 15 of the 17 performance standards. The criteria includes the number of individuals who obtained employment, retained employment, increased their earnings and attained credentials.
