2nd Annual Veterans Museum Foundation Fundraiser - Nov. 19

The Atlantic County Veterans Museum Foundation will hold its second annual fundraiser to honor the many Atlantic County residents who answered the "Call to Duty" in all branches of the military and to support the fabrication of exhibits and conservation of artifacts for the Atlantic County Veterans Museum.

The Atlantic County Veterans Museum is being developed in the historic Daniel Estell House adjacent to the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in the county park at Estell Manor.

Contractors have been working for several months to rehabilitate the structure, circa 1832, where Rebecca Estell Bourgeois Winston, the state's first female mayor, once lived and bring it up to current code standards and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Among the added features will be an elevator and rest rooms. The building will also be equipped with improved lighting, phone and Internet service, computers, exhibit cases and more.

The Atlantic County Veterans Museum Committee continues to accept donations of military items attributed to the military service of Atlantic County citizens through all conflicts and from all branches of service will be accepted. Artifacts with a direct connection to an area veteran including photographs, supporting service documentation, and/or personal accounts are of particular interest. A categorized list of articles of interest is available on the county web site at www.aclink.org/vetsmuseum. The site also includes preservation tips for specific types of artifacts.

The fundraiser will be held on Thursday, November 19, 5-7 PM at Harrah's Waterfront Conference Center, 777 Harrah's Boulevard, Atlantic City. Marine Veteran Michael A. Fedorko, former Casino Control Commissioner and NJ State Police Superintendent, will serve as guest speaker.

Tickets are $200 and may be purchased through Pay Pal on the foundation's web site: www.acvmf.org or by check made payable to Atlantic County Veterans Museum Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 194, Northfield, NJ 08225.

For more information, contact Ken LeFevre, President of the Atlantic County Veterans Museum Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit, at (609) 703-0063.
