Atlantic County Promotes Wellness with Discount Dental Program

Atlantic County is offering residents the opportunity to significantly save on the cost of routine, preventative and specialty dental services and treatments through the MyCountyCares Discount Dental Program.

For $69 a year for individuals or $79 a year for families, residents will be able to choose from a nationwide network of participating providers for savings up to 60% on cleanings, exams, X-rays, dentures, crowns, root canals and more. Participants also have the option to pay monthly - $6.95/month for individual membership or $8.95/month for family membership.

The MyCountyCares Discount Dental program is NOT insurance and is available to those who are uninsured, underinsured or who currently have insurance. Discounts are available at the time of service with no forms to file. Just simply present your membership card for unlimited use.

“We are excited to be a part of the MyCountyCares program,” stated County Executive Dennis Levinson. “When so many people are struggling to make ends meet, this program can help ensure that dental care remains affordable. Oral hygiene is important to overall health and wellness and should not be sacrificed.”

Research has found that gum disease is linked to a host of illnesses including heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disease, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. People with gum disease were twice as likely as others to die from a heart attack and three times as likely to have a stroke, according to a study by the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry.
