The Atlantic County Library System was awarded a 2014 LibraryAward Community Award. The Brigantine branch is being honored for their commitment to serving their community in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The Brigantine branch staff took on a new role of connecting residents with vital recovery and rebuilding information and also created the Sandy Stories Project, a series of interviews with Sandy victims, to serve as a source of inspiration and healing as well as a primary source of historical significance. For these efforts, the branch receives the second place award of $7,500.
