28th Annual Grandparents Day Celebration
On Thursday, June 21 the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services will hold its 28th annual Grandparents Day program and recognize local students, ages 5-17, who submitted artwork, essays, poetry, photography, designed Web sites and wrote songs that depict their special relationship with their grandparents.
Each year Atlantic County pays tribute to grandparents as seen through the eyes of their grandchildren. Students submit entries, by age group, in six categories through their school system. Approximately 2,500 entries were received this year, the largest amount in the history of the program. Members of the Atlantic County Senior Citizens Advisory Board and local senior artists served as judges making this a truly intergenerational project.
The program will be held at the George L. Hess Educational Complex, 700 Babcock Road, Mays Landing. It will begin at 10 AM.
